At this time the company was known as E.A. Young & Company with business premises in Queen Street, Melbourne. Ernest soon expanded into paints and other products for the rapidly growing automotive trade and by 1920 was well recognised as a leading supplier. At this time canvas hoods were the norm and Ernest produced a "Canvas Hood Dressing" which gained acceptance as "the one to buy". This product was exported throughout the world. By 1930 Young's range had expanded to cover the needs of the developing automotive industry. The product range included items like Distilled Water, Gasket Cement, Valcanising Heat Patches, etc. Young's name was so well known world wide that a letter could be addressed to "Young's Melbourne" and it would reach us.<br> <br> Young's survived the depression but in 1939 the Australian Government commandeered our factory with all plant and equipment, thus closing Young's for the duration of the war. This did not stop Ernest, who continued to make products at home for the war effort. When his son, Lance, returned home from war service overseas, the Young's factory was established again in Canterbury, Victoria, to regain markets lost in the 1940's. By 1980 when Lance Young wished to retire, he sought to find someone within the motor trade who would uphold the Young's principles of product and service. The present owners, Allen Kennedy and Sons, remain faithful to those valued principles. To maintain his proud association with the company, Lance Young has been retained as an active consultant. <br> <br> In formulating new products, the Company's dedication to quality ensures user-safety and harmony with the environment. It has been developed to meet the latest requirements of the Australian and Japanese Motor Industries. When the minimum concentration of 33% by volume is used a lower freezing point and higher boiling point will be achieved. Used as directed can protect the cooling system for 3 years or 60,000Km which ever comes first. This product meets Australian Standard AS2108 - 1984 and ASNZ.2108 - 97 TYPE A. Available in 1, 4, 20 and 205 litre containers. Stock numbers: AF-1, AF-4, AF-20, AF-205. <br> <br> <br> <b>COOLANT PRE-MIX</b><br> A pre-mixed radiator fluid blended with demineralised water and 50% ethylene glycol containing a mixture of corrosion inhibitors, balanced to provide maximum protection for the cooling systems of water cooled petrol and diesel engines. Being premixed removes any local water contamination problems and makes coolant replacement at service times more accurate. Just fill cooling system directly from container, no need to add any water. This product meets Australian Standard AS2108 - 1984, ASNZ.2108 - 97 TYPE A. Available in 1, 4, 20 and 205 litre containers. Stock numbers: PM-1, PM-4, PM-20, PM-205. <br> <br> <b>CORROSION INHIBITOR FORMULA 96</b><br> Contains 0.6g/l Sodium Tolylriazole and specialized corrosion inhibitors formulated to give maximum corrosion protection to the multi-metal components of the modern automotive engine cooling system. This product meets Australian Standard: AS2108 - 1984, ASNZ.2108 - 97 TYPE B. Available in 250ml, 500ml, 1, 4, 20, & 205 litre containers. Stock numbers: RB-250, RB-20. <br> <br> <b>CLEAN-A-CORE</b><br> Clean-A-Core is an effective quick acting radiator and cooling system cleaner, designed to clear blocked radiators. It may be used prior to the use of Young's Coolants or Inhibitor to achieve maximum efficiency of the cooling system. The use of Clean-A-Core will not have a harmful effect on natural or synthetic rubber hoses in the system.
