HISTORY: Proud of our past. Excited about our future.
A review of our company's history proudly shows it is filled with exceptional people, continuous growth and ongoing innovation….
WH Williams was founded in 1948 by William Hyne Williams. An iron moulder by trade, William started manufacturing poultry equipment such as green feed cutters and water troughs. In 1950, his two sons, Bill and Harold joined the business. With further investment in machines such as guillotines, press brakes and welders, the business was then able to diversify into general sheetmetal work. Today the business is third generation Williams, with Harold and his son participating in a workforce of over fifty people. The current factory now stands adjacent to the original family home in Silverwater where the first stage of construction was simply an open shed with a dirt floor in the backyard.
CAD Design
An integrated design, programming and production system is critical for achieving smooth workflow. WH Williams’ state-of-the-art technology for both design and production are from a single source. This is an important step in speeding up the evolution from idea to finished part without the need for any duplication.
Laser Cutting
No matter if the part geometry is simple or highly complex, we have the ability to perfectly cut through both thick plate and thin sheets. Pipes, tubes, RHS, flat bar and angles can be laser cut in our rotating chuck, or by using purpose made jigs inserted into the laser machines. Examples might include tube penetrations, inserts, slots or holes.
Guillotining
If you require metal cut into rectangular shapes, guillotining enables fast processing at low cost. We can handle material widths up to 4000mm and thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm to 6mm. The best use of materials is ensured by utilising cost effective, efficient layouts and reducing scrap at the same time.
Bending
Bending technology today delivers both precision and flexibility. WH Williams uses only the latest technology in bending machinery. With a fleet of press brakes capable of providing greater design versatility, even higher precision and shorter set-up times, WH Williams can handle lengths up to 4000mm and apply a force up to 230 tonnes.
Saw and Drilling
A complete solution requires more than just sheet metal. Therefore lengths such as RHS, flat bar and pipe are kept in stock and can be cut to size.
Rolling
WH Williams offers rolling production on a large range of materials to suit your needs.
Our plate rolling machines can produce results on parts up to 2400mm long.
Welding
Our hands on approach is suitable for small intricate parts all the way through to large assemblies. A product is successful only when it is precisely manufactured to match its specifications. So, whether you require a high quality finish or simply general purpose welding, we have the equipment and personnel for the job.
Despatching
A high quality, well-executed product has little value if it isn’t ready on time. Our job isn’t finished until the product is in your hands. We offer the people and systems to ensure your products are there when you need them, and we’ll work with you to meet your unique needs.
