| People are often surprised when they are told that we still manufacture the old style Dux Door Closer, but why stop when there are so many people who consider them to be the best door closers ever made. Dux closers are ideally suited to factories, hospitals, anywhere that a door must be closed. People are even more surprised to find that the door closer which has been working for the last 30 years can still be repaired, and most prefer this option rather than changing to a different closer. |

Limiting Dimensions, Regular Arm Fitting, Parallel Arm Fitting. The body of the closer is cast in meehanite iron, accurately machined, and the pinion is housed in a needle race to ensure long life and smooth operation. Each closer incorporates individual controls for adjusting closing speed, latching speed and back-check pressure. All fire door closers are fitted with fusible plugs and have been tested on 1, 2 and 3 hour fire doors. The modern appearance of Dux Premier closers, with the screw on cover, will complement the decor of the rest of the room, or they can be concealed in the door. Dux Premier door closers are available in handed and universal styles but only handed closers are suitable for fire doors. Special functions such as Delayed Action and Electromagnetic Hold Open are also available. Dux Door Closers are guaranteed against faulty materials and workmanship, endorsed by our reputation gained over 40 years service by Dux Door Closers. |

| HANDING Handing of Dux closers is very simple. A clockwise opening door is a left hand door and requires a left hand closer no matter which side of the door the closer is fitted. Similarly an anticlockwise opening door is a right hand door and requires a right hand closer. FINISHES Covers are available in painted steel - silver, bronze, black. Other colours on application. Satin Stainless Steel. Polished Brass. Other Plated Finishes. Arms and fittings are available in matching finishes. |
SPECIALS

The
Dux 500 and 1000 Series Door Closers are manufactured as heavy duty Door
Closers to cover situations which a normal domestic door closer cannot
cope with. It is two door closers in one compact body and has all the
innovative features of the Dux Premier Door Closer range, plus the extra
strength needed for those special situations, such as oversized doors
and doors subject to strong wind conditions. They have been fitted to
explosion proof doors in oil installations, and at the new Parliament
House in Canberra.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Fixed Arm: This is the simplest
and most economical arm for a Dux Premier. In most cases it is sufficient
for a standard door.
Adjustable Arm: For those occasions where the door and frame are
not flush, the adjustable arm compensates for this and allows more flexibility.
Adjustment is made by simply screwing in the eyebolt to the required position
while on the door itself.
Handed Hold Open Arm: For those applications where you want the door
to hold open but which cannot open beyond that point, the handed hold open
arm will do the job. It works on friction, opening the door will tighten
the bolt in the arm joint until it holds the door open in the set position
and release is affected by a simple push. This arm is not recommended for
doors which open beyond the hold open position.
Universal Hold Open Arm: For doors where you want the door to hold
open at 90 degrees, but the door can open to 180 degrees, the Universal
Hold Open Arm will solve your problem. It is universal because it can be
fitted to either door swing without alteration and when the door is opened,
the arm will allow the door to pass the set position, then come slowly back
to stop where adjusted. Again a simple push allows the door to close.

BRACKET OPTIONS

Regular
Arm Fitting: The simplest and most common configuration for a door closer.
It is also the most efficient with the door closer arm in the best position
to latch the door against the friction offered by the bolt. Wherever possible,
a closer should be fitted regular arm for best operation.
Parallel Arm Bracket: There are times when you may prefer to fit
a closer to the other side of the door. On these occasions a parallel arm
bracket is used. By coupling the regular arm bracket with the parallel bracket
adapter we form the necessary fixture for closer operation. It must be remembered
that a slightly stronger closer may be needed for the same size door when
fitting parallel arm.
"Z" Bracket: On many modern doors, the frame and closer
are flush on both sides which doesn't cause problems for a regular arm fitting,
but makes parallel arm fitting difficult. A "Z" bracket solves
this problem by allowing the bracket to be fixed to the face of the wall
above the door. Again it is coupled with the regular arm bracket.
Drop Plate: When fitting a closer to a glass door which has a narrow
top rail, the use of a drop plate makes the exercise more secure than using
just the top 2 screw holes. It also covers the back of the door closer which
can be seen through the glass from the other side.
