CSR Sugar
Vacuum / Product
Transfer System
Product: Sugar
Problem: It is an inherent problem with sugar (and many other products) that the particle size is so small that it readily escapes from the tiniest cracks in any production line. Hundreds of man hours were used each week to keep the plant clean. This was obviously a costly exercise and CSR were eager to gain efficiencies in this area. Regular cleaning of the production line also created the need for large quantities of sugar to be removed for re-introduction to the production line.
Pneuvay's Solution:
Pneuvay Engineering installed a Constant Velocity vacuum/ product transfer system which allows workers to remove the Vacuum system in use at CSR sugar with minimum effort. The system consists of 24 vacuum inlet points to which workers simply attach a vacuum tool and begin vacuuming. The sugar is then conveyed back to the beginning of the production process. Far fewer man hours are now required to keep the plant at CSR clean .
Kodak Australasia
Trim Removal System
Product: Photographic paper trim
Problem: As this paper contains silver, Kodak were keen to ensure that the trim was reclaimed as efficiently as possible.
Pneuvey's Solution:
Pneuvay Engineering installed a Kongskilde Multicutter system.
Suction nozzles take the trim directly from the slitter and the Multicutter shreds it into small pieces. It is then run through a cyclone before being deposited in a collection skip. Kodak ship these skips to the USA where the silver is recovered
